Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in the WUSC Consultant Database. We are constantly working to improve the quality and accessibility of this database and appreciate your assistance. We hope that this FAQ will answer any questions you might have regarding the functioning of the database, and we apologize if you have experienced any inconvenience.
I am not applying for a specific position at the moment; can I still register within the database?
Yes, you may create a general application form including any relevant information.
Where can I view consultancy positions?
If you are interested in finding a specific consultancy position, please login to the database and click on the “Application” tab at the top of the page. Scroll down and click on the link “View Consultant Positions.” This will open a new tab showing any positions that are currently available.
The links and tabs are not working.
This problem may be the result of an incompatible browser. We are in the process of upgrading our system, but currently our database does not support any versions of Internet Explorer that are older than version IE9 (9.0.8112.16421, build number) or Internet Explorer 11. Please try using Firefox, Safari, or Chrome. If the problems persist, please email pdu@wusc.ca with your problem, highlighting exactly what happened and which internet browser and version you were using.
The “Create New Account” tab does not work.
If the “Create New Account” Tab does not work, please try a different internet browser. If you still have any trouble, please contact us at pdu@wusc.ca and we will respond as soon as we can.
I forgot my password.
If you have forgotten your password please click on the Forgot Password link at the bottom of the login page. You should receive an email at the email address you registered with. Please check your junk mail. If you still have trouble, please contact us at pdu@wusc.ca and we will respond as soon as we can.
I cannot input information into the Education and Work History Sections and the information is not saving.
Please note that the Education and Work History sections both function by clicking on the “new education” or “new work history” links at the bottom of the page. This will open another window for you to input your information. You cannot type directly into the empty box on either page. Please remember to click the “Save” or “Save and Continue” buttons at the bottom of the screen before refreshing or exiting your browser tab. If your information disappears after you have clicked save, it may be as a result of an incompatible browser. If you still cannot see the inputted information, please send us an email at pdu@wusc.ca and we will respond as soon as we can.
I cannot upload my documents to the database.
Please email us at pdu@wusc.ca with the problem, the internet browser name and version as well as the type of document you were uploading. We will respond as soon as we can. Please only upload documents in Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF (.pdf) versions.
I cannot save my information.
If you cannot save any of the information you are writing, please try another browser or update your browser to the most recent version. If you still cannot save any of your information, please email us at pdu@wusc.ca.
I cannot upload all of the resumes or cover letters that I want to. I cannot view my resumes or cover letters after I have uploaded them.
Please be aware that WUSC will only look at your resume if you are shortlisted for a position. We encourage you to enter your most relevant and accurate information. You can only enter 4 Cover Letters and or Resumes. If you know of a consultancy position, if you wish, you may include a cover letter. Please note that you will only be able to view your uploaded documents once you click “Save”. If you refresh or leave the page before clicking save, you will lose all your information.
How much information should I put in the Work Experience Section?
Please be aware that WUSC will only look at your resume if you are shortlisted for a position. Shortlists are compiled based on other information you have entered into our database - education, work experience, and areas of specialization. As such, we encourage you to enter your most relevant and accurate information.
How many Areas of Specialization can I choose?
You may only choose 15 areas of specialization.
I do not understand the language in the database.
We currently offer the option of viewing the database in either English or French, and you may signal your preference on the welcome page. Please be advised however that we accept applications in Spanish as well
How can I show my competency in multiple languages?
If you speak multiple languages, please list all of them in the “Known Languages” section, you may also upload resumes in multiple languages. It is recommended you upload resumes in the languages you speak, especially English, Spanish and French.
I filled in the Application Form in one language but chose that I would like to correspond in another language. Is that a problem?
No, that is not a problem; WUSC will correspond with you in the language of your preference, English or French.
I have already been employed by WUSC as a Consultant or I have applied for a WUSC Consultant position before 2013. Do I need to register?
Please be advised that you may have been added into the system already. In this case, your email may already be in the system. If you applied with an email address that you are no longer using, please contact us so we can update your information in our database. Email us at pdu@wusc.ca and we will inform you of the update as soon as we can.
I received an error message.
If you have received an error message and cannot comprehend the message, please email us at pdu@wusc.ca with the contents of the error message, browser name and version. We will respond as soon as possible.
